Variety: Red

The most delicate Pinot we've produced from this magical vineyard, aromas of plum skin and capocolla with palate of blueberry, violet and raw forest mushroom. Best enjoyed with a good source of proper San Daniele prosciutto drizzled with a lighter expression of local EVOO.

“Could you ever need me?
And would you know how?”

Christine McVie (1979)

And with those two lines, Tusk begins. Fleetwood Mac’s epic follow up to their already epoch-shaping Rumours. After an album that detonated across the planet with its undeniable and enduring brilliance, only a band operating at intergalactic creative elevation would choose to open the next chapter with an introspective ballad like Over & Over.

What a track. And what a false dawn. Because the moment track 2, The Ledge, kicks in, the collective Fleetwood Mac fan hive mind is blown clean into orbit. Its jagged weirdness announces, unmistakably, that nothing about “the Mac” will ever be the same again. It is one of those hinge points in music history. The band that helped define smooth LA cool effectively sounds its own death knell. Roxy Music’s Avalon would arrive a few years later as the genre’s immaculate epitaph.

For this reason, Over & Over becomes more than an opening track. It is a statement of intent, a reminder that you can break with the past, transcend expectations, sidestep convention and reinvent yourself completely, all while being thoroughly and unshakeably awesome.

Over & Over Pinot Noir celebrates two ultra high-elevation sites in the Whitlands: the K & L Croucher site and the Above the King vineyard we farm ourselves (~800m). Though only a short distance apart, they speak differently thanks to the region’s geological quirks.

Production notes: 2025 was a rare year for us on the hill. No real weather pressures allowed for ample ripening and a lack of pressure on us to make a picking call which almost felt like cheating. Like the 2024 harvest we took advantage of this.

Whole berry ferment with 20% whole bunch. Pumped over twice daily for a 12 day period during its natural fermentation and then hand plunged for 4 days before being pressed right at the end of ferment. Settled, racked and then transferred to 90% old french oak and 10% new Hungarian hogshead. 11 months resting in oak and then the blend was put together at which point it was racked once more prior to bottling. Unfined, unfiltered with a small addition of sulphur.

Tasting notes:  Blackcurrant and plummy fruit with spice and earth on the nose. The palate is where the extra ripeness really shines, fleshy with a silky mid-riff. Serve with a herb crusted lamb rack with grated beetroot, caper and pepperberry salad.
